My name is Marcus Gatica, and I'm 21. I grew up in Matagorda Bay in the small town of Palacios, Texas, with a large supportive family and, of course, three dogs. I discovered drawing in middle school. At that time, I didn't know I wanted an art career. After taking some art classes in high school, I began to believe it was possible. After graduating from Palacios High School in 2019, I decided to start my professional journey as a cartoonist and animator at the Art Institute of Houston.

 

 

 I like to develop stories, and I'm excited about learning to put animation into those stories. I am especially interested in anime and cartoons. I have already created numerous characters to explore the worlds I am creating. I like to bring visual reality through my stories through my drawings. I look forward to finishing my education and developing my career with the one thing that I enjoy doing the most-storytelling through animation.
